About

I use and love herbs and supplements for my health and wellbeing.

I also have an innate curiosity about evidence that may support their safety and or efficacy and am so happy that I live in a country where I can freely access information, take initiative, explore and remain empowered to support my body’s efforts to maintain balance.

I am struck at the plethora of modern as well as historical information that is actually available which supports the safe and effective use of herbs and supplements, and feel compelled to “share”.

A little known fact about the use of herbs and supplements: There have been no known deaths associated with the use of herbs or supplements in the past 10 years. The bad press about herbs and supplements seems strange to me, given the actual statistical reality.

Especially in the light of looking at the deaths associated with Tylenol or Aspirin. Yes, deaths. Yet Tylenol and aspirin are an over the counter, in almost everyone’s medicine cabinet, drug that we accept as generally safe and effective.

Why don’t we “generally accept as safe” herbs and supplements? Maybe this is our culture, maybe this is our fear of something different from what we have been brought up with, maybe its just our lack of exposure and education or maybe its just a lack of curiosity to challenge the norm.

Whatever it is, I am certain that the option to choose and use herbs and supplements for creating balance and wellbeing for myself is still part of my constitutional right in the pursuit of happiness.
